The general arrangement of the VVF plungers is shown in fig. 1. The air valve consists of a cast-iron body 1, which has a trapping chamber in the lower part, in which a hollow ball 6 is installed, designed to prevent the system from locking to let air into the system. A lower cast-iron cover 2 is installed on the body 1, which is pressed against the seat on the body with a gasket 3. A sealing ring 5 is installed on the cover 2, which prevents water from flowing out of the system when air is released. The upper cover 4 is installed on the lower cover 2 through the washers, which prevents foreign objects from entering the body of the plunger.
The principle of operation of the plunger is based on the principle of a valve to release air from the system and lock the outlet for water to escape. The plunger also works in the opposite direction, not allowing a vacuum to form in the system.
The plunger is tested for tightness and strength at a pressure of Ppr\u003e 1.5РN.
