A fire hydrant is a device that performs the function of a shut-off valve, and with the help of adjacent devices (such as a fire hydrant), provides water supply from water supply networks for the needs of fire extinguishing, filling fire engines with water and in some cases providing other needs of society with water. As a rule, hydrants are installed in underground wells of water supply networks equipped with a stand for a fire hydrant. Depending on the depth of the well, hydrants can be of different heights: from 0.5m to 4.0m, with a height "step" of 0.25m.

Cast iron hydrants are made of high-strength material, have high resistance to mechanical influences, withstand temperature changes well and have a long service life due to high resistance to corrosion.
